The drum stands are self-loading. Each stand can be raised or lowered independently, using a built-in jack. The stands are capable of carrying drums up to 6 tonnes in weight, and will accommodate drums up to 2.300mm in diameter. The stand is manufactured in two halves to allow easy access with full drums. The drive to the drum stands is provided via a combined motor/brake reduction gear assembly, which is secured directly to the end of the drum spindle. When used in conjunction with a Puller/Tensioner, the stands are connected to it via 20m long hoses, and quick release couplings to allow flexibility in positioning. The drive is fully hydrostatic and incorporates a spring applied/pressure release brake to positively hold the drum stationary when tensioning stops. These drum stands have been designed to accept a full range of conductor drums, ranging from 1200mm to 2200mm diameter and up to six tonnes in weight. |
